What are the benefits of using a senior move manager?
Most adults moving into a smaller home or apartment need to downsize considerably. For many people, this can be overwhelming. Although family and friends want to help, they often are busy or live too far away. While family support is important, the amount of work that needs to be done can cause family tension. A Bridge Forward will provide professional, objective moving help to ease the stress.
How do I get started?
Simply call or email A Bridge Forward. We will schedule a meeting to provide you with a complimentary consultation and free quote. After we meet, you decide whether professional move assistance makes sense for you.
How much does it cost?
The cost for a move depends on which services you select and the amount of downsizing desired. Most projects cost between $1,500 and $3,500 plus the cost of the moving company.
Are you insured?
Yes. A Bridge Forward is insured and bonded through the insurance companies endorsed by the National Association of Senior Move Managers, the industry’s professional organization.
How long does downsizing take?
Every situation is different but during our free in-home consultation, we will determine the amount of time. If you are able to do some sorting each day, our job will go faster and save you money!
How do I know what will fit in my new home?
We will take measurements and create a floor plan, providing a furniture placement recommendation. Our team will work with you to make sure you are only moving what will fit in your new home. This process frequently saves clients time and money by not moving belongings that do not work in the new space.
What happens to the things I no longer need?
We will work with you on a plan to determine what will be given to friends or family members and which items can be donated to charity, sold through consignment/estate sale or disposed of properly.
